The Tuscaloosa City Schools continues to work with local government and to follow the guidelines set by the CDC. Today, in an effort to be proactive, the district made the following decisions as it relates to CoronaVirus.
TCS will Cancel all out-of-state field trips from now through the spring (March, April, May). At this time, we will continue with in-state trips. According to Dr. Daria’s directive, the 2020 Northridge Middle School Boston trip is cancelled. Mrs. Thomas is in touch with the travel agent. As soon as she hears about possible refunds, she will be in contact.
Large group gatherings for March will be cancelled. We will continue to push out information through email as directives and updates come our way.
Athletic Events – TCS will begin with closed athletic events tomorrow. Only immediate family members and the media will be allowed to attend athletic events. This will remain in effect until the end of March at which time the system will reevaluate and make a recommendation. Tomorrow, athletes will be asked to provide the names of immediate family members to their respective coaches. Please send that list with them to school or send an email to your respective coaches.
